Malayalam Mimicry Artist Pala Suresh Dies In Sleep At 53: Actor Succumbs To Cardiac Arrest

Malayalam mimicry artist Suresh Krishna, popularly known as Pala Suresh, passed away at his residence in Piravom, Kerala, on Sunday (August 17). He was 53.

According to reports, Suresh was living in a rented house near Thekkumuttipadi. On Sunday morning, when he did not wake up at his usual time, his family grew anxious. After forcing open the door, they found him lying unresponsive. He was immediately rushed to Piravom Taluk Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary reports suggest that he suffered a cardiac arrest in his sleep.

Suresh had been diagnosed with a heart condition and was reportedly undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. He is survived by his wife Deepa and their two children – Devananda, a nursing student in Germany, and Devakrishna.

For over three decades, Pala Suresh remained a respected figure in the mimicry world. He earned immense popularity through his stage performances and appearances at cultural events across Kerala. His most celebrated act was his spot-on impersonation of former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, which brought him widespread recognition and made him a familiar name in the comedy circuit.

In addition to mimicry, he also ventured into Malayalam cinema, television serials, and comedy shows. One of his memorable screen appearances was in the 2013 Malayalam film ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi, directed by Martin Prakkat and starring Dulquer Salmaan, where he played the role of a journalist.

Suresh was professionally associated with the renowned Narma troupe in Kollam and was also an active member of Cochin Rasika, another prominent stage group.

Belonging to the Vettathukunnel family of Vellilappilly, Ramapuram, he was the son of the late Balachan and Omana. His sudden demise has left a void in the world of mimicry and comedy in Kerala.
